Busan to Host UNESCO World Heritage Committee in July 2026

Preparations are under way at BEXCO with a committee chairperson to be nominated in the coming weeks.

  • UNESCO confirmed the decision at its 47th session in Paris on July 15, 2025.
  • The 48th session will run from July 19 to 29, 2026, in South Korea’s southeastern port city.
  • This will be South Korea’s first time hosting the annual World Heritage Committee meeting since joining the convention in 1988.
