Overview
- Auguste-Marie Bile-aka Amoa, 25, was fatally shot outside the Landor pub in Clapham on Monday after witnesses reported a rider ambushed his car and multiple gunshots were heard.
- A 22-year-old man who later went to hospital with a gunshot wound has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in hospital while detectives led by DCI Claire Guiver continue enquiries.
- Witnesses told reporters they saw a person in a motorcycle helmet and said the alleged gunman visited a nearby shop minutes after the attack, and police are trawling CCTV, dashcam and doorbell footage and collecting forensic evidence.
- Family, friends and colleagues have paid tribute at the scene and said Bile-aka had turned his life around as a bus driver and a volunteer mentor, with some close to him suggesting he may have been the wrong target.
- Clapham residents and police say the shooting follows other recent serious violent incidents in the area, and detectives say any new footage or witness statements could be vital to the ongoing investigation.
