Overview
- National Rail says no trains can run through Daisy Hill and disruption on the Wigan Wallgate–Salford Crescent corridor is now expected until at least 4pm.
- Network Rail reports debris on the track and embankment at Daisy Hill and says services on the Atherton line will not resume until inspections and repairs are completed.
- Northern is diverting services via Bolton where possible, extending journey times and skipping Daisy Hill, Hag Fold, Atherton, Walkden, Moorside and Swinton.
- Rail replacement buses are operating between Wigan Wallgate and Salford Crescent but cannot call at Daisy Hill because Leigh Road is closed, with Westhoughton used as the alternative stop.
- United Utilities has isolated the burst near Leigh Road and says water pressure issues in the BL5 and BL6 areas have been resolved after tanker support overnight.
