Burley Idaho Temple Opens for Public Tours Ahead of January Dedication

The two-story, 45,300-square-foot temple in Idaho’s Magic Valley incorporates agricultural motifs reflecting the community.

Overview

  • Monday’s kickoff featured tours for media guided by Elders Steven R. Bangerter, K. Brett Nattress and Karl D. Hirst, with invited-guest tours set for Tuesday and Wednesday.
  • The public open house runs Nov. 6–22, excluding Sundays, with free, no-reservation entry for visitors of all faiths and ages.
  • The temple will be dedicated Jan. 11, 2026, with the session broadcast to local church units, which Church News reports will be the first temple dedication of 2026.
  • Located at 40 S. 150 East in Burley, the building spans approximately 45,300 square feet on a 10.12-acre site and will become Idaho’s seventh operating temple and the Church’s 212th once dedicated.
  • Design elements reference local agriculture, including stained glass featuring the potato blossom and a palette inspired by surrounding farmland and open skies.
