Overview

  • A framework agreement between Google Cloud Public Sector – Deutschland GmbH and BWI GmbH will establish two physically isolated “air-gapped” cloud instances for Bundeswehr operations.
  • The private cloud environment, dubbed pCloudBw, is designed to process both open and protected data in line with the Bundeswehr’s Cloud-First approach.
  • Both instances will be installed within Bundeswehr data centers, fully separated from the public internet and other Google systems to ensure data security.
  • The solution will integrate SAP’s Business Technology Platform to support critical logistics and administrative applications within the military network.
  • BWI plans to incorporate open-source software in pCloudBw to strengthen digital sovereignty, while cost details for the cloud deployment remain undisclosed.
