Bullrich Heads to 9 de Julio to Oversee Flood Response and Launch AFE Operations Hub

The effort centers on restoring rural connectivity to reach isolated families.

Overview

  • The new operations center in 9 de Julio will be run by the Federal Emergency Agency (AFE), with its chief Santiago Hardie coordinating with the mayors of General Viamonte, Bragado and Carlos Casares.
  • The national deployment includes Vialidad Nacional machinery, dump trucks and field teams, Defence resources from the Joint Chiefs for earthworks and drainage, and federal forces with all‑terrain vehicles.
  • Patricia Bullrich is due to meet producers and representatives of the provincial Mesa de Enlace at the local Sociedad Rural at 15:00.
  • Officials report that parts of the Salado basin received 1,200 to 1,800 millimeters of rain, far above seasonal norms, leading to crop and livestock losses and isolated rural households.
  • Bullrich said the national decision proceeded without prior coordination with the Buenos Aires provincial government, while 9 de Julio’s mayor described the situation as critical and noted ongoing work with the province.
