• Sarah Michelle Gellar shared an Instagram video of her and Ryan Kiera Armstrong training together as they prepare for the Hulu pilot ordered in May.
• Ryan Kiera Armstrong will star as Nova, an introverted high-school student chosen as the new Slayer under Buffy Summers’ mentorship.
• Chloé Zhao is directing the pilot and serving as an executive producer alongside Sarah Michelle Gellar and writing duo Nora and Lilla Zuckerman.
• Kingston Vernes has joined the cast as Carson, a Junior Olympian and popular student at New Sunnydale Academy who takes notice of Nova.
• Although the pilot has completed its first table read and entered pre-production, Hulu has not yet greenlit the series or begun principal photography.
