Buffalo Bills to Don 1990s Red Helmets in Final Highmark Stadium Game

Overview

  • The team will resurrect its red helmet design from 1987 to 2001, featuring white facemasks and blue-and-white crown stripes, for the Week 18 regular-season finale against the New York Jets.
  • That January 4, 2026 matchup will close out the stadium that opened in 1973 as Rich Stadium and has hosted all four of Buffalo’s early-1990s Super Bowl runs.
  • Buffalo also announced it will wear its AFL-era “Standing Buffalo” throwback uniforms in Week 5 at Atlanta and Week 11 against Tampa Bay.
  • Bills COO Pete Guelli said the uniform tributes honor the fans and franchise history as the team bids farewell to its longtime home.
  • These commemorative games coincide with the Bills’ move to a new Highmark Stadium across the road for the 2026 season.
