Buenos Aires Tightens VTV Enforcement for October as Province Unveils Overhauled Booking Portal

The redesigned site streamlines appointments, helping drivers avoid fraudulent pages.

Overview

  • From October 2025, vehicles without a valid VTV in both PBA and CABA are not allowed to circulate.
  • Penalties for noncompliance include fines, vehicle retention and potential obstacles to renewing a driver’s license.
  • PBA’s updated portal (portal.vtv.gba.gob.ar) now offers online appointment booking, verification-history access, virtual assistance and an interactive map of inspection plants.
  • To book, users register or log in, go to My Vehicles, select Request appointment, choose plant, date and time, then confirm and download the receipt.
  • Published fees include PBA cars up to 2,500 kg at $79,640 and CABA cars at $63,453 (motorcycles $23,858), with exemptions such as CABA zero‑km cars for three years or 60,000 km and PBA fee waivers for people with disabilities, municipal services and official fire units; certificates are valid for two years for vehicles aged 4–7 years under 84,000 km, then annually.
