Buenos Aires Sets Dec. 8 Holiday Schedules for Transport, Health and City Services

City guidelines prioritize emergency continuity over routine operations.

Overview

  • Subte and Premetro run from 8:00 to 22:00, AMBA buses and trains follow holiday frequency, and Ecobici is limited to monthly, recreational single-use, and tourist single-use or daily passes.
  • Hospital emergency rooms and critical areas operate 24 hours, external consultations and CeSAC/CEMAR are closed, and scheduled surgeries are suspended except for urgent cases.
  • Waste collection proceeds as normal, metered parking is not enforced, and parking is allowed where it is usually banned from 7:00 to 21:00 except on Metrobús corridors, coexistence streets, and lanes beside bike paths.
  • Chacarita, Flores, and Recoleta cemeteries conduct inhumations from 7:30 to 14:00 with last paperwork at 13:00 and final burial at 13:30, while outlets differ on the Registro Civil death-duty start time (reported as 8:00–12:00 or 9:00–12:00).
  • Schools and most administrative offices remain closed, city museums open 11:00–20:00, the Torre Monumental opens 10:00–18:00, the Planetarium stays closed, and tolls apply weekend peak pricing 11:00–15:00 toward the province and 17:00–21:00 toward the Center.
