Buenos Aires Province Votes Sunday in First Split Legislative Election in 42 Years

Provisional results start at 21:00 under the traditional party ballot system.

Overview

  • More than 14.3 million voters will choose 46 provincial deputies, 23 senators, 1,097 councilors and 401 school board members across 135 municipalities.
  • The province votes by eight sections with unequal seat weights, and the populous First and Third sections will heavily shape the overall balance.
  • Voting is compulsory for citizens aged 18 to 70 and optional for 16–17 year olds and those over 70, with polls open from 8:00 to 18:00.
  • The contest is being read in national terms, with Fuerza Patria and the La Libertad Avanza–PRO alliance vying for primacy and Somos Buenos Aires seeking a third lane.
  • Authorities urge voters to verify their polling place at padron.gba.gob.ar, and results will be published once at least 30% of mesas in each section are counted.
