• Retirees and pensioners whose incomes do not exceed two minimum pensions can pay half price once per year for a single vehicle they own with a valid inspection, and the benefit does not combine with other discounts.
• To claim the 50% benefit, applicants must present proof of vehicle ownership, proof that the VTV is in force, and their most recent pension payment receipt.
• Certain vehicles remain exempt from the fee, including municipal service units, fire department vehicles, and drivers with a Certificado Único de Discapacidad (CUD).
• Driving with a failed inspection carries fines of 300 to 1,000 Unidades Fijas as reported, and although drivers get 60 days to fix issues after a rejection, they cannot circulate until the vehicle is approved.
