Buenos Aires Province Requests Meeting With Santilli Over Alleged Withheld Funds and 1,000 Stalled Works

The province seeks overdue revenue-sharing payments to close a funding gap it estimates at about 13 trillion pesos.

Overview

  • Carlos Bianco, the provincial government minister, formally asked Interior Minister Diego Santilli for an audience to discuss federal debts and public works reactivation.
  • Bianco said the agenda includes restarting roughly 1,000 nationally linked projects that the province says remain paralyzed.
  • As of today there was no response from the national government, and Santilli’s public schedule shows a trip to Entre Ríos for a meeting with Governor Rogelio Frigerio.
  • The Kicillof administration alleges the Milei government cut transfers by about 13 trillion pesos, constraining infrastructure and provincial programs.
  • In a parallel move to stabilize finances, the province is seeking legislative approval for a $1.99 billion loan and an 8% municipal fund.
