Buenos Aires Province Relaunches Subsidized Credit for Shops, SMEs and Microenterprises

Targeted rate bonifications through public banks seek to spur local investment and help stores restock.

Overview

  • The government reopened two financing lines with interest subsidies administered by the Ministry of Production through Banco Provincia and Provincia Microcréditos.
  • Impulso al Comercio Bonaerense offers up to $16.8 million per loan indexed to UVAs, using Banco Provincia to fund purchases of nationally made final goods.
  • The line excludes salaries, tax or financial debts, services, food and beverages, fuels and tires, and it carries a 12‑month term under the German system with three months of principal grace.
  • Provincia Microcréditos provides up to $10 million for productive investment or working capital for independent workers and microenterprises in services, tourism, construction and industry, with subsidies up to 8 percentage points and up to 10 for women- or diversity-led ventures.
  • Officials say the relaunch responds to tight peso liquidity and weak sales, and they cite prior rounds that assisted 1,015 microenterprises across 114 municipalities, strengthened over 3,000 jobs and directed 70% of spending to Buenos Aires suppliers.
