Buenos Aires Province Raises VTV Fees 25% From July 17

Resolution 188 ties new tariffs to 7% of a category 1 operator’s salary under Decree 2103/22 to keep pace with wage inflation.

Overview

  • The provincial government published Resolution 188 in the Boletín Oficial on July 18 to enact a 25% increase in VTV tariffs effective July 17.
  • The July increase marks a cumulative 47.7% rise in VTV fees for 2025.
  • Passenger cars up to 2,500 kg now pay ARS 79,640.87 including VAT while motorcycle fees range from ARS 31,816 to ARS 63,713 based on engine size.
  • The fee structure is set at 7% of a category 1 SMATA-CAVEA operator’s basic salary, currently ARS 1,137,726.75.
  • Exemptions remain for vehicles owned by persons with disabilities, municipal fleets and fire department units.
