Buenos Aires Province Makes Public Transport Free on Sept. 7 and Oct. 26 Election Days

A Boletín Oficial resolution directs operators to boost frequencies to protect voter access.

Overview

  • The Ministry of Transport formalized the policy via Resolution RESO-2025-231-GDEBA-MTRAGP (Resolution 231) published today in the provincial gazette.
  • The measure covers regular urban buses, interurban services of medium and long distance, and fluvial routes in the Paraná Delta.
  • Travel will be free across Buenos Aires Province on Sunday, Sept. 7 for provincial elections and Sunday, Oct. 26 for national elections.
  • Transport companies were instructed to reinforce service, with TN reporting services will operate on a Saturday frequency pattern on those dates.
  • Officials invited municipalities to adhere to the plan, and Transport Minister Martín Marinucci said the step seeks to ensure no voter is limited by lack of transport.
