Buenos Aires Province Limits Heavy Trucks on Key Tourist Routes Jan. 15–16

The move prioritizes safer, smoother holiday travel on the province's busiest corridors.

  • The restriction applies to vehicles over seven tonnes during the quincena turnover, with enforcement set for Thursday, Jan. 15, 14:00–23:59 and Friday, Jan. 16, 06:00–14:00 toward the Costa Atlántica, and Thursday, 14:00–23:59 toward CABA.
  • Targeted roads include Autovía 2, provincial routes 11, 36, 56, 63 and 74, plus the Buenos AiresLa Plata tollway.
  • Vialidad bonaerense detailed exact segments, such as the BA–La Plata corridor from CABA to La Plata and Autovía 2 from km 40.5 to km 400 (Camet).
  • Exempt vehicles include freight under seven tonnes and essential services carrying milk, live animals, frozen seafood, fruit and vegetables in transit, fuel, medical gases, medicines, press units, emergency services and waste transport.
  • The Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Services reactivated this routine seasonal measure to reduce crash risk and ease tourist traffic, with implementation by the provincial road authority.
