Buenos Aires Province Implements September VTV Rates With Heavy Vehicles at ARS 143,353

Class-based provincial fees now apply alongside a separate capital regime of targeted exemptions.

Overview

  • The Province of Buenos Aires published its September tariff table, setting light vehicles at about ARS 79,641 and heavy vehicles over 2,500 kg at about ARS 143,354, with defined rates for trailers and motorcycles.
  • Appointments for the provincial inspection must be booked online through the official Portal VTV (portal.vtv.gba.gob.ar) before attending an authorized plant.
  • Driving with an expired VTV can lead to fines roughly between ARS 480,000 and ARS 1,606,000 and may result in vehicle or license retention, according to provincial rules.
  • In the City of Buenos Aires, zero‑km cars are exempt for up to three years or 60,000 km and new motorcycles are exempt for the first year, with payment waivers available for low‑income retirees and people with disabilities.
  • A 50% discount in the province is available in September for retirees and pensioners with incomes up to two minimum wages (about ARS 322,000), subject to documentation of income, vehicle ownership and current VTV.
