Buenos Aires Offers Free Winter Break Programs Across City and Nearby Towns

A joint city-provincial effort has synchronized free cultural, recreational, educational events in public spaces through August 3.

Overview

  • Tecnópolis in Villa Martelli is open Tuesday through Sunday from 12 to 18 until August 3, offering live performances, interactive workshops, exhibitions and a regional gastronomic fair with free admission.
  • Parque de la Ciudad in Villa Soldati welcomes visitors Tuesday through Sunday from 8 to 19 (weather permitting) with nature walks, art studios, sports challenges, a mariposario and free dance and yoga classes.
  • Since July 19 Estaciones Saludables and Usina del Arte have hosted daily outdoor games, workshops, concerts and guided tours for families through August 3.
  • The Cultural Spaces Circuit is staging more than 150 free family shows through July 30 at sites including Ecoparque, the Feria del Libro Infantil y Juvenil and the Centro Cultural de las Ciencias.
  • Families can also take budget-friendly day trips to San Vicente, San Antonio de Areco, Capilla del Señor, Tomás Jofré and Carlos Keen for rural experiences and regional gastronomy within 50 to 110 kilometers of the city.
