Overview

  • The city opened a national and international bidding process, with several interested firms, to construct and equip Line F.
  • The new corridor spans 9.8 kilometers with 12 stations from Barracas to Palermo, bringing subway service to Barracas for the first time.
  • Planned interchanges cover all six existing subway lines plus Roca at Plaza Constitución and San Martín at Palermo to reduce crowding on Line C.
  • Officials budget the project at about US$1.35 billion and estimate it could carry more than 300,000 passengers per day.
  • Construction is targeted to start in 2026 pending contract awards, alongside a separate US$370 million purchase of 214 cars to renew Lines A, B and C and ongoing station upgrades.
