Buenos Aires City Finalizes 2026 Entry Into Unified Monotax With Joint ARCA–AGIP Resolution

More than 200,000 small taxpayers will manage all obligations in one place via ARCA’s portal.

Overview

  • ARCA and AGIP published Joint General Resolution 5769/2025 in the Official Gazette, formally incorporating CABA into the Sistema Único Tributario from January 1, 2026.
  • Enrollment will be automatic for national monotributistas operating in the city, while new registrants will sign up through ARCA’s Monotributo portal.
  • A single monthly payment will combine the integrated tax, social security and health contributions with Buenos Aires gross receipts, with unified recategorizations and registrations.
  • Payment credentials move to Form 1520 with a Unique Registry Code (CUR), existing direct debits will add the local levy, and exclusions ordered by ARCA or AGIP will take effect across both regimes.
  • The change removes parallel AFIP/AGIP procedures and certain local withholdings, forms part of the City’s relief package, and brings CABA in line with 13 provinces already using the unified scheme.
