Overview
- The city government selected CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles for meeting technical requirements and offering the most economically favorable proposal.
- The €301.6 million contract covers 174 zero-kilometre cars to replace 60-year-old Mitsubishi units and two-decade-old CAF 6000 trains.
- First trainsets are scheduled to enter service in the first quarter of 2027 under the oversight of Subterráneos de Buenos Aires (SBASE).
