Budgam Police Attach Three Properties of Pakistan-Based Terror Handlers

The move is designed to undercut militant operations by seizing assets used to finance attacks.

Overview

  • Budgam Police attached three immovable properties on July 16 under FIR No. 58/2024 as part of an intelligence-led crackdown on terrorist support networks.
  • The seized assets are located in Khag, Chewa Beerwah and Harwani Khansahib areas of Budgam district.
  • The properties included two-storey houses and a 19.5-marla land parcel owned by Pakistan-based handlers Manzoor Ahmad Chopan, Mohammad Yousuf Malik and Bilal Ahmad Wani.
  • The operation was executed under Sections 7 and 25 of the Indian Arms Act and Sections 18, 20 and 23 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act with executive magistrates present.
  • Authorities said the seizures aim to dismantle the financial and logistical lifelines of cross-border militant outfits and send a strong deterrent message.
