Buckingham Nicks Returns With First Official Remaster and Wide Release

The 1973 set that led to Nicks and Buckingham joining Fleetwood Mac arrives as an archival project, not a reunion.

Overview

  • Rhino’s High Fidelity series has released the remastered Buckingham Nicks across vinyl, CD and streaming as of Sept. 19.
  • The package uses the original analog masters with 180-gram vinyl cut by Kevin Gray and includes new liner notes by David Fricke.
  • A limited 7-inch bundle offers original mixes of “Crying in the Night,” “Stephanie,” “Don’t Let Me Down Again” and “Races Are Run,” versions not on the LP.
  • Recorded at Sound City Studios and produced by Keith Olsen, the album later prompted Mick Fleetwood to recruit Lindsey Buckingham on the condition Stevie Nicks joined.
  • Stevie Nicks has reiterated there will be no Fleetwood Mac reunion following Christine McVie’s 2022 death, even as the reissue renews fan interest.
