BTP Releases CCTV in Probe of London–Birmingham Train Brawls That Saw Guard Assaulted

Investigators urge anyone who recognises the four pictured men to contact BTP quoting reference 743 of 13 September.

Overview

  • British Transport Police published images as part of an ongoing investigation into multiple fights on a London to Birmingham service on Saturday 13 September.
  • Between 8pm and 9pm, three men punched and kicked a male passenger to the floor before that confrontation was broken up.
  • The same passenger then became involved in a separate fight with two other men while still on the train.
  • As the train reached Birmingham International station, a guard was assaulted while trying to prevent another fight between two men.
  • Police want to identify four men pictured in CCTV — heavy build in a red T-shirt; balding with grey hair in a black T-shirt with a tattoo; black cap and sunglasses with a black Dsquared2 ‘Milano’ top; short brown hair in a black top — and ask the public to text 61016 or call 0800 40 50 40, or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, quoting reference 743 of 13 September.
