- BT appointed Sunil Bharti Mittal and Gopal Vittal as non-independent non-executive directors as nominated representatives of Bharti Televentures UK Ltd.
- Mittal will also join BT’s nominations committee.
- The relationship agreement entitles Bharti to two board seats while its stake remains at or above 20%, falling to one seat if it drops to between 10% and 20%.
- Bharti became BT’s largest shareholder after buying a 24.5% holding from Patrick Drahi’s Altice UK in August 2024 for about $4 billion.
- BT shares fell by around 3% in early London trading following the announcement.
