Overview

  • Chairman A Robert J Ravi inaugurated the soft launch at BSNL’s Ameerpet Exchange on June 18 during a controlled customer experience test.
  • The service operates on BSNL’s Direct-to-Device platform with a fully home-grown 5G stack—core, RAN and CPE—eliminating the need for physical SIMs or fibre trenching.
  • Field tests recorded 980 Mbps download rates, 140 Mbps upload speeds and sub-10 ms latency, supporting UHD streaming, cloud gaming and remote work.
  • Enterprise plans start at Rs. 999 per month for 100 Mbps and Rs. 1,499 for 300 Mbps, with pilots set to expand to Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Pune, Gwalior, Pondicherry and Visakhapatnam by September.
  • BSNL will use the same 5G standalone core to offer network-sliced, SLA-backed links tailored for MSMEs and smart-manufacturing clusters.
