BSF Fortifies Tripura Border with Major Smuggling Busts

  • On June 14 at around 3:45 PM, BSF troops near Dholakcheri Border Outpost in South Tripura arrested five cattle smugglers and rescued 12 cattle.
  • Personnel at Nirbhoypur Border Outpost in West Tripura intercepted 47 brand-new mobile phones worth about Rs 10 lakh before they could be thrown into Bangladesh.
  • Combined operations resulted in the seizure of contraband valued at over Rs 20 lakh across multiple smuggling attempts.
  • The arrested individuals were confirmed to be residents of South Tripura and Gomati districts, BSF officials said.
  • The BSF will soon introduce new uniforms composed of 80 percent cotton for better comfort in India’s humid and hot climates.
