BSF Downs Six Pakistani DJI Drones, Seizes 2.34 kg of Heroin in Amritsar

Operations in multiple Amritsar villages have raised this month’s drone shootdowns to 12 with more than 7.5 kg of heroin intercepted

Overview

  • BSF downed six DJI Mavic 3 Classic drones during night-time operations between the evening of July 17 and early July 18 in Amritsar district.
  • Troops recovered 1.744 kg of heroin from four drones near Pulmoran and 596 grams from a drone near Roranwala Khurd while neutralizing a sixth drone near Dhanoe Kalan.
  • The new seizures bring this month’s total to 12 drones destroyed and over 7.5 kg of heroin intercepted along the Indo-Pakistan frontier.
  • BSF officials credited vigilant personnel and advanced counter-drone systems for foiling Pakistan-based narco-terror networks’ aerial smuggling attempts.
  • These operations form part of the Yudh Nashian Virudh campaign, which has logged nearly 20,000 arrests and recovered tens of kilograms of heroin since March 2025.
