• True freshman Bryce Underwood went 21-for-31 for 251 yards with a touchdown and no turnovers, becoming Michigan’s fourth freshman to start at quarterback.
• Transfer running back Justice Haynes ran 16 times for 159 yards and three touchdowns, including two runs over 50 yards, in the most yards by a Wolverine in a debut since 1970, according to Sherrone Moore.
• Michigan totaled 452 yards and hit explosive pass plays of 39, 30 and 27 yards in a more up-tempo attack, with tight end Marlin Klein catching six passes for 93 yards and a score.
