Bryan Johnson Takes High-Dose Psilocybin, Begins Data-Heavy Longevity Test

The anti-ageing entrepreneur is running a three-month, self-administered psilocybin trial that tracks 240 biomarkers, with results still to come.

Overview

  • Johnson ingested roughly a five-gram dose of magic mushrooms in the first session of his planned monthly protocol.
  • Blueprint co-founder Kate Tolo served as trip-sitter, describing visual hallucinations and logging in-session checks including a brain scan, blood pressure readings and a saliva adrenal profile.
  • After the session he posted that he was “just so happy to be alive” and later wrote that the experience changed him and that he had previously reconciled with death.
  • The next day he said “life feels fresh,” continued his regimen and reported completing a brain scan and blood draws while he prepares a fuller account.
  • He says the project will measure about 240 biomarkers spanning DNA integrity, cellular ageing, protein levels, metabolism and brain activity, and no biological findings have been released yet.
