Overview

• The attack occurred on the night of 20–21 July at a poultry farm near the Rheindamm in Nordheim, Biblis, in the Kreis Bergstraße.
• Assailants slaughtered over 50 laying hens, decapitating many and removing bodies while leaving heads at the scene.
• Kommissariat 42 in Lampertheim has opened an investigation and so far has no suspects.
• The farm’s owner faces an estimated €1,000 loss from the destruction of livestock.
• Authorities are urging anyone who saw unusual activity near the farm that night to contact police to aid the investigation.
