Overview

• The fire ignited Friday at 5:40 p.m. near Henderson Road and Oaks Road and was propelled northeast by strong winds.
• Within an hour the blaze expanded to about 40 acres, challenging crews on rugged terrain.
• More than 100 firefighters supported by engines, tankers and aircraft are battling the flames with additional personnel en route.
• Mandatory evacuations cover areas northeast of Henderson Road and around Magee Road, and warnings extend to neighborhoods west of the fire and along the Riverside County border.
• A temporary evacuation center has been established at the Pala Casino parking lot on State Route 76.
