Overview

  • The fire erupted at 7:30 PM Thursday in the Vinyet area near the Sant Jeroni monastery and La Vallesana de Montcada i Reixac.
  • Bombers de la Generalitat deployed 16 ground teams supported by aerial units to combat the flames in the rugged terrain.
  • Crews secured the fire’s right flank by 9:30 PM and declared it under control at 3:04 AM Friday.
  • Four ground teams patrolled overnight to suppress any re-ignition, and this morning three forest prevention units along with ADF, Mossos and Policia Local remain on site.
  • Interior Minister Núria Parlon toured the affected area with local mayors to assess recovery and prevention measures.
