Bruno Sacco, former Chief Designer of Mercedes-Benz, passed away on September 19, 2024, at the age of 90 in Sindelfingen, Germany.
Sacco's design philosophy emphasized timeless elegance and maintaining a consistent brand identity across generations.
He was instrumental in the creation of renowned models like the S-Class (model series 126), E-Class (series 124), and the Mercedes-Benz 190 (W 201).
Sacco's tenure saw the introduction of innovative features such as the automatic roll-over bar in the R 129 SL and double glazing in the S-Class model series 140.
Honored with numerous accolades, Sacco was inducted into both the European Automotive Hall of Fame and the Automotive Hall of Fame in the mid-2000s.
