Bruins Extend Unbeaten Record With Win Over Sharks

Bruins continue perfect start with decisive doublestrike in second period.

  • Despite a slow start and criticism from coach Jim Montgomery, the Boston Bruins managed to maintain their perfect record with a 3-1 win against the San Jose Sharks. Their efforts were concentrated in the second period with a decisive double strike.
  • James van Riemsdyk, Charlie Coyle and Trent Frederic stood out as a powerful trio, generating momentum from the start and ultimately leading to van Riemsdyk scoring on a rebound.
  • Hampus Lindholm showed commanding performance in all three zones, earning his highest workload of the season. His only drawback was an accidental goal against, where the puck rattled off his skate into the Bruins' net.
  • 19-year-old Matt Poitras, who had his first chance playing with Brad Marchand and Morgan Geekie in the No. 2 line, had a muted performance, resulting in a reduced workload. Poitras is expected to play his fourth NHL game on Saturday against the Los Angeles Kings.
  • The San Jose Sharks remain winless with a 0-3-1 record. Despite greater pressure in the second period and an attempt to draw closer with an extra attacker in the final minutes of the game, the Sharks could not turn the tide.
