Overview

  • McAvoy practiced Monday in a regular jersey with a full cage after weeks of non-contact work following his Nov. 15 facial fracture.
  • He described a linear fracture with displaced bone and multiple lost bottom teeth, underwent surgery, and remains on a liquid-only diet.
  • McAvoy said he lost about 20 pounds early in recovery and has gained back roughly half as he rebuilds strength.
  • He will accompany Boston to St. Louis, Winnipeg and Minnesota and hopes to play at some point on the trip if team doctors clear him.
  • Pastrnak, out since Nov. 26, traveled in a non-contact jersey and is aiming to return during the road swing pending medical clearance.
