Bruce Pearl Joins TNT and CBS as Analyst After Auburn Retirement

The broadcast move follows Auburn’s succession to Steven Pearl with the Tigers’ full scholarship roster staying in place for 2025-26.

Overview

  • Pearl will be a studio analyst for TNT’s expanded Big East and Big 12 coverage alongside Jalen Rose, Jamal Mashburn and host Adam Lefkoe, with Chris Webber contributing at key moments and a debut set for Nov. 3.
  • He will also call games and contribute to studio programming for CBS Sports and will be part of the joint CBS/TNT studio team for the NCAA Tournament.
  • Pearl retains an Auburn role as an athletic department ambassador and special assistant to the athletic director while moving into full-time broadcasting.
  • At SEC Media Days, Steven Pearl said athletic director John Cohen had prepared for a coaching transition for three years and opted to maintain staff continuity as Steven took over.
  • All 12 scholarship players chose to stay through the 30-day transfer window, leaving a roster with 10 newcomers anchored by returner Tahaad Pettiford and transfer Keyshawn Hall ahead of the Nov. 3 opener.
