Bruce Lehrmann Charged with Stealing Toyota Prado in Tasmania

The former political staffer appeared in Hobart Magistrates Court by phone, with the case adjourned to June.

Bruce Lehrmann, 29, has been charged with stealing a Toyota Prado from Mountain River, Tasmania, on November 20, 2024.
The vehicle's owner, Gail Oates, reported it missing early that morning, but it was returned later the same day with a full tank of fuel.
Lehrmann appeared via phone in Hobart Magistrates Court, where his lawyer requested an adjournment to prepare representations on the charge.
The case has been adjourned to June 19, 2025, and Lehrmann has not yet entered a plea.
Lehrmann previously lost a defamation case in 2024 after a Federal Court found, on the balance of probabilities, that he raped Brittany Higgins in 2019, a finding he is appealing.
