Overview
- On October 22, BRS leader Gadari Kishore Kumar cautioned Ministers Adluri Laxman and MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy against personal attacks on T. Harish Rao and warned of a mass response if provoked.
- BRS figures mocked the Congress leaders’ electoral records and alleged infighting and corruption in the current government, citing episodes involving Konda Surekha, Rohin Reddy, and the Deccan Cements issue.
- A day earlier, Adluri Laxman publicly refuted Harish Rao’s claim that ministers quarrelled and discussed personal matters during a recent Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.
- Laxman challenged Harish Rao to take an oath at the Siddipet Venkateswara Swamy temple, said he would do so in wet clothes to prove his stance, demanded an unconditional apology, and pledged a ritual bath to ‘cleanse’ the alleged insult.
- Laxman also accused the previous BRS government of filing over 600 FIRs against Congress social media activists and of resorting to phone tapping, while no independent verification of Harish Rao’s allegation has been reported and no apology has been issued.
