Overview
- Telangana and Himachal Pradesh signed the MoU on March 29 for two hydro-electric projects in Seli and Miyar totalling 510 MW at an estimated ₹6,200 crore cost.
- The state has paid an ₹26 crore upfront premium to Himachal Pradesh and is slated to pay another ₹26 crore under the agreement.
- Moser Baer abandoned the Seli and Miyar projects in 2017 after paying ₹64 crore and NTPC cancelled its contract in 2022, both citing unfeasible technical and financial conditions.
