Overview

  • Cleveland waived 23-year-old undrafted rookie Luke Floriea with an injury designation after he strained his hamstring in the preseason opener.
  • Head coach Kevin Stefanski called the injury serious, and reporter Brad Stainbrook said it’s a non-surgical Grade 2 strain requiring about 2–3 weeks to heal.
  • Floriea had earned a roster look through standout performances at Kent State, rookie minicamp and training camp before the setback.
  • If he goes unclaimed on waivers, the Browns plan to revert him to injured reserve or re-sign him to the practice squad once he’s healthy.
  • To bolster secondary depth, Cleveland signed cornerbacks Christian Holmes and Darius Rush and also adjusted its tackle room by waiving Roy Mbaeteka and designating Kilian Zierer as its international player.
