Overview

  • Luke Floriea exited the preseason opener against Carolina with a hamstring injury and was waived by the Browns with an injury designation the following Monday.
  • Coach Kevin Stefanski described the injury as serious and local reports peg it as a Grade 2 strain that should sideline Floriea for about two to three weeks without surgery.
  • If Floriea clears waivers the team could place him on injured reserve or bring him back on the practice squad once he’s healthy.
  • To bolster secondary depth the Browns signed cornerbacks Christian Holmes and Darius Rush in the same transaction.
  • Offensive tackle Roy Mbaeteka was released and international path program tackle Kilian Zierer was designated as the Browns’ international player.
