Flacco, who has been instrumental in the Browns' push into the postseason, has the potential to earn significant additional bonuses depending on the team's playoff performance.
Veteran quarterback Jeff Driskel, recently signed off the Arizona Cardinals' practice squad, will start in place of Flacco for the season finale against the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Browns, having already clinched a playoff spot, are also resting other key players in the final game, using it as an improvised bye week.
The Browns will face either the Jacksonville Jaguars or the winner of the Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts game in the wild card, depending on the outcome of the Jaguars' game against the Tennessee Titans.
