Jordan Akins, who has 24 receptions for 243 yards this season, will step in as the starting tight end in Njoku's absence.
Kicker Dustin Hopkins has also been benched for the game after missing two field goals in last week's loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, bringing his season total to an NFL-high nine missed attempts.
Riley Patterson, recently promoted from the practice squad, will handle kicking duties in place of Hopkins for Week 15.
