Overview

  • Dŵr Cymru completed the full emergency replacement of the burst trunk main in Broughton on August 15 and began phased network refilling.
  • Controlled re-pressurisation is scheduled to continue over the next 48 hours, with most Flintshire customers expected to see water by Saturday and full restoration by Sunday.
  • Bottled water stations remain operational at Flint, Deeside and Mold, and deliveries of bottled water and tankers are sustaining vulnerable households, hospitals and care homes.
  • Household customers will automatically receive £30 for each 12-hour period without water and business customers £75, with firms also able to claim for lost income.
  • Engineers are monitoring air pockets and working in challenging deep-duct trenches near utility cables to safeguard the extensive water network during replenishment.
