Brothers Charged in Fatal Caboolture Shooting Claim Self-Defence

Lawyers for the accused allege the victim, Chloe Mason, posed an armed threat before her death on December 22.

Codye Ian Thomson, 29, and Kaine Raymond Thomson-Gleeson, 32, have been charged with the murder of 23-year-old Chloe Jade Mason in Caboolture, Queensland.
The victim was found unconscious with a gunshot wound on a residential street and died at the scene on December 22, 2024.
Lawyers for Thomson-Gleeson argue that Mason arrived at his home armed with a rifle, and he acted in self-defence to protect his family.
Police allege the brothers chased Mason down the street before she was fatally shot and later fled to northern New South Wales before being arrested on January 6.
Both men remain in custody and are due to appear in Caboolture Magistrates Court on January 13 for further legal proceedings.
