Brooklyn Woman Intentionally Hits NYPD Officer with Car

Sahara Dula, a 24-year-old Brooklyn resident, intentionally hit NYPD officer Ruchiran Dias with her car, causing him to suffer a broken leg and multiple bruises.
The incident occurred as Dula was driving the wrong way on Park Avenue, while officers were investigating an unrelated robbery at a high-end clothing store.
Dula has been charged with first-degree attempted assault, attempted aggravated assault upon a police officer, second-degree assault, second-degree reckless endangerment, and operating a vehicle while ability impaired by drugs and reckless driving.
Dula admitted to smoking marijuana and was held on $25,000 bail.
Police Benevolent Association President Patrick Hendry questioned why Dula wasn't charged with attempted murder, stating that she tried to kill a New York City police officer.
