Overview

• On May 24 in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Tiffany Cifuni’s Toyota 4Runner and Chaquasia Pigford’s Chevy Trax collided before Pigford allegedly struck Cifuni, dragging her about 160 feet.
• Cifuni, 32 and 12 weeks pregnant, succumbed to severe head and torso injuries at Kings County Hospital.
• Police traced Pigford to South Carolina and took her into custody on June 18 before extraditing her to Brooklyn for arraignment.
• A grand jury indicted Pigford on charges including second-degree murder, manslaughter, murder with depraved indifference and leaving the scene of a fatal crash.
• Authorities noted Pigford was free on bail from an April misdemeanor assault case when she allegedly carried out the hit-and-run.
