The suspension was triggered by a Flagrant 1 foul Claxton committed during the fourth quarter of Monday's 107-99 loss to the Washington Wizards.
Claxton, 25, is averaging 10.1 points and 7.5 rebounds per game this season while serving as a key defensive player for the Nets.
The suspension will be served during Wednesday night's home game against the Oklahoma City Thunder at Barclays Center.
In Claxton's absence, the Nets are expected to rely more heavily on center Day’Ron Sharpe to fill the defensive void.
